Culture and Style Gap: Obama Leaves Trinity....

Update: Here is a link to press conference transcript relating to the Obama's decision to leave Trinity United.

Blaming reporters and assorted busybodies pestering church members, especially the shut-ins and the sick, Barack Obama has resigned from Trinity United Church of Christ. Press reports this evening note his leaving the church with "some sadness" and that has been months since he attended Trinity. This action is obviously fallout from not only the Jeremiah Wright rants but the newly emerging reports about the lunatic priest Father Michael Pfleger who performed at the church last Sunday. (see our posting below)
At a news conference in Aberdeen, S.D., after the news emerged on the blog of a black journalist in Chicago, Obama said he and his wife, Michelle, had notified the church in a letter Friday that they “”were withdrawing as members of Trinity,” in part because of “a cultural and a stylistic gap."

Thank God for Father Mike...

The title's words are from Trinity United's new pastor Otis Moss who thanks Father Michael Pfleger for his stirring denunciation of, not only Hillary Clinton, but all white people. You find yourself laughing at the antics of this loony priest but you end up feeling sick at heart and stomach. One is no longer surprised at the hateful preaching emanating from the pulpit of Barack Obama's church. This is the complete video from Father Michael Pfleger's performance last Sunday at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

Giant Confederate Flag For Florida....

Although there are already at least two very large confederate flags flying in Florida there are plans afoot for the granddaddy of all flags:
TAMPA — Next year, a giant Confederate flag may tower above the tree line near the junction of Interstate 75 and Interstate 4.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans wants drivers in the Tampa area to see the massive flag — 30 feet high and 50 feet long — atop a 139-foot pole, the highest the Federal Aviation Authority would allow. It would be lit at night.

The photo below is of an existing large confederate flag on I-75 in White Springs FL.

Belch Your Carbon: June 12th....

I just noticed this grassfire.org group directing a giant "Carbon Belch" in the faces of the climate alarmists and hoaxers. They have designated June 12 as "Carbon Belch Day" and they provide a handy calculator to measure your carbon belch. I came in at over six times the average American belch. You can too and it's fun to mock the whackos.

Denver Silly Season 2008 Begins....

To kick off the Summer 2008 Denver Season of Silliness we have the tidbit below from the Rocky Mountain News. The top event of the season will of course be the Democrat National Convention; now, that's going to be fun!

Rest assured that a citizen initiative in Denver CO, if passed, could get to the bottom of this alien abduction business. One Jeff Peckman, is pushing a ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver. He has a video of an alien peeking into a window which shows the chap blinking!

"It shows an extra terrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera," he said. The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said earlier this month.

The False Comfort of Appeasement....

President Bush, in Israel for that nation's 60th statehood anniversary celebration, had this to say about appeasing terrorists:
Speaking before the Knesset, Bush said that “some people” believe the United States “should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along."We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is—the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."
The upshot has been an outpouring of venom and remonstrance from various Dems. To wit:
House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel issued a statement in which he said: "The tradition has always been that when a U.S. president is overseas, partisan politics stops at the water's edge. President Bush has now taken that principle and turned it on its head: for this White House, partisan politics now begins at the water’s edge, no matter the seriousness and gravity of the occasion. Does the president have no shame?”(emphasis added)

Joe Biden:This is bullshit, this is malarkey. This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset . . . and make this kind of ridiculous statement.”
Has anyone mentioned the above principle to Carter and B. Clinton? It seems to me that a reference to the principle of no negotiations with terrorists is perfectly appropriate in the land that perfected that maxim. Bush says he was not speaking specifically about Obama, who has stated he would sit down and negotiate with Iran among others.
White House press secretary Dana Perino, who was in Israel with Bush, denied the president was intervening in the 2008 election, and said his comments did not directly target Obama.
"I understand when you're running for office you sometimes think the world revolves around you -- that is not always true and it is not true in this case."
Nancy Pelosi, for her part, is attempting to get Sen. McCain to condemn the President's remarks, which he probably will, just as he did in the case of Republican ad in North Carolina.
Referring to Sen. John McCain, Pelosi said: "I would hope that any serious person that aspires to lead the country, would disassociate themselves from those comments.”

John McGreen: The Epitome of Pander

This is a banner in the merch section of the John McGreen for President website. As part of his march to the left and embrace of the anthropogenic global warming hoax he is selling eco-friendly (whatever that means) tee shirts, bags etc at exorbitant prices.

On McGreen's speech yesterday in Oregon, the Wall Street Journal concludes:

Quote:

The compliance bookkeeping for this new "market" is vastly complex, and a McCain Administration would create a public-private "Climate Change Credit Corporation" to oversee it all. This new regulatory body is likely to morph over time into an "Energy Fed," similar to the one Warner-Lieberman would create. Such an agency would set the price of energy indirectly by fiddling with carbon levies, which will undoubtedly lead to economy-wide distortions.
Given the distance between Mr. McCain's rhetoric and the policy reality, we wonder if he even knows what he's proposing. This is of a piece with his approach to many domestic issues, where the policy contradictions and cul-de-sacs overwhelm his professed political convictions. The McCain campaign believes his global-warming plan will appeal to independents and young people, as well as separate the Senator from President Bush.
But he will never be green enough for the climate-change fundamentalists. The Obama campaign and Democrats were already dinging Mr. McCain yesterday for half-measures. His concessions won't help him much in November, but they will make his governing decisions in 2009 that much more difficult if by some chance he does win.

The Church of Oprah...

The image “http://mediaoutrage.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/oprah-and-obama.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

We are starting to learn why Oprah Winfrey left Trinity United Church of Christ. Although earlier this year Oprah enthusiastically endorsed Obama and campaigned for him in several states, little has been heard from her lately about B.H. Obama.

The Church of Oprah is followed by 23 million people each week in the United States. Little wonder then that Pastor Oprah would quickly distance herself from small fry like the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. She stuck with Trinity United for several years as a member (1984-86) and continued to attend off and on until the mid 1990's but she was put off by the rantings of Rev. Wright. Oprah is the quintessential businesswoman and she came to the realization that her association with Jeremiah Wright would not set well with her mainstream audience (flock).

According to the forthcoming issue of Newsweek (5/12/08) which quotes a long time friend of Winfrey we learn, "Oprah is a businesswoman, first and foremost...She's always been aware that her audience is very mainstream, and doing anything to offend them just wouldn't be smart. She's been around black churches all her life, so Reverend Wright's anger-filled message didn't surprise her. But it just wasn't what she was looking for in a church."

The Newsweek story also quotes a long time Winfrey associate who says
Winfrey spoke of her fatigue with organized religion and a desire to be involved with a more inclusive ministry.

In time, she found one: her own. "There is the Church of Oprah now," said her longtime friend, with a laugh. "She has her own following."
