The Smoking Gun is reporting that Google is being sued by a Pennsylvania couple who claim their privacy has been violated by Google's Street View feature which offers panoramic street level views of many locations in the U.S.
Aaron and Christine Boring accuse Google of an "intentional and/or grossly reckless invasion" of their seclusion and privacy since they live on a street that is "clearly marked with a 'Private Road' sign," according to a lawsuit the couple filed this week in Allegheny County's Court of Common Pleas.....The Borings are seeking in excess of $25,000 in damages and want a court order directing Google to destroy images of their home....while they are litigating, perhaps the Borings should consider suing Allegheny County's Office of Property Assessments, which includes a photo of their home (which was built in 1916 and sits on 1.82 acres) on its web site. Googling the address, 1567 Oakridge Lane, Pittsburgh PA no longer brings up the images of the property. The photographs above are from The Smoking Gun article.
We'd say the 25 grand would go a long way towards fixing up that lawn!

Looks like the Boring Trial Liar may have also stumbled onto Bill Gates' deep tech pocket.
In addition to the protested Google Street Views, Microsoft has aerial photos of the Boring property.

The crux of the Google case (if you can call it a case) seems to be where the alleged "Private Road" sign is posted and when the Borings (or Boring Oakridge Lane neighbors) decided to post said sign.
From the entrance of Oakridge Lane all the way up to the approach of the Boring property, there is no obvious private road sign visible to the Google image acquisition view.
Both the Microsoftand Google maps also suggest that Oakridge Lane ends right between the Boring House and their Boring detached garage.
For the Boring couple who claim they only want privacy, the attention from the lawsuit is ironic . . . .
